On the Set: A Conclusion

Today marks the last day of filming for Marshall the Miracle Dog. It has definitely been a journey to say the least. We have ventured into the depths of Illinois to film at a variety of parks, homes and shops where we were greeted with nothing but smiles and enthusiasm for the production of our movie. We have also dealt with a variation of conditions such as rain, thunderstorms, mud and heat but have continued the filming with gusto because everyone is dedicated to telling Marshall’s story. Marshall’s story started with a book that Cyndi...

On the Set: Day 15

Our assistant coach in the movie, Greg Warren, is nothing short of hilarious. He is from Saint Louis and studied at the University of Missouri where he majored in journalism and was an All-American college wrestler. However, he also won a comedy contest and was invited to perform at a club where he decided to become a full time comedian. Upon graduating from college, his career took off. He has performed on a variety of diverse channels including BET and multiple Country channels. He is more recently known for his appearances on Comedy...

On the Set: Day 14

As we look back upon the days we spent filming, it is important to highlight some of the stars who made appearances in our movie. One of these stars is Shannon Elizabeth. Although we all know how devoted she is to dogs and all animals, a lot of people don’t know that she actually started her own animal rescue. While on set, Shannon spent countless hours with the animals, forming an inseparable bond between her and Marshall. When talking to her further, she explained that she had started her own animal rescue organization called Animal...

Today we had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Character Plus National Conference at the Saint Charles Convention Center. This conference is dedicated to strengthening character values of young adults to make them better students, instructors and leaders in the classroom. There are many organizations attending this conference, all working towards the same goal of building character in young adults eliminating the problem of bullying in schools. Cyndi, along with Girls in the Know, had the chance to promote their Marshall Mentoring...

On the Set: Day 11

Although it is easy to get wrapped up in the other messages and scenes in the movie, it is inherently important to remember the main focus of this movie: combating bullying. There are many subplots to this movie that go along with this message as well: standing up for others, being kind, showing compassion, never giving up and many more. These subplots are integral to the antibullying message because they show that there are many different facets to erasing bullying. Therefore, when watching this movie, we should be inspired to help and to...

On the Set: Day 10

The towns of Edwardsville and Troy have been extremely helpful in allowing us to film in various areas such as their parks and their homes. Today we are filming a scene in a dog park and we couldn’t have asked for a better location than the park in in Troy. All of the officials of the town such as the mayor as well as all the people in Troy have been extremely accommodating. Furthermore, the excitement generated for the movie and for Marshall has been amazing! They are just as excited, if not more, that this movie has been put into the works...
